SDCC 2026

Oh, hi there.

Yeah, the ranty writing blog is waaaay overdue. Very sorry, seriously. If you’ve been getting the newsletter, you know I’ve been juggling a bunch of stuff and, alas, this is the easiest thing to push down the list.

If all goes well, I should be back to posting semi-regularly after San Diego Comic Con and catching up on the questions and suggestions folks have given me. heck, I may even get the FAQ updated. I know, I know, let’s not get crazy…

Anyway, speaking of SDCC…

I’m going to be attending again this year and wanted to get my schedule out there for anyone who may want it. I’ve got a lot of stuff on Thursday and… well, that’s it, programming -wise. I’ll probably be wandering around the floor on Friday and I miiiight sneak down on Saturday just for two or three panels I want to see. Maybe have lunch or dinner or a drink with someone.

So, on Thursday

2:15–4:15 I’ll be part of the Writer’s Coffeehouse in room Marina D over in the Marriott. It’s for writers of absolutely any and all levels, seasoned pros or just barely getting started. You can come and ask questions about anything writing related. Outlines, dialogue, genre, twists, anything. Or you can ask publishing questions—agents, contracts, editors, whatever. Anything goes, and the panel will try to give you the best answer we can..

5:00- 6:30 I’m up under the Sail for two back-to-back signings connected to two different things. Essentially for the first half of it I’ll be at AA06, and for the second half I’ll be at AA04. And Mysterious Galaxy will be there selling books. Or you can bring your own copies. I’ll scribble in either.

7:00-8:00 I’m part of a panel called When The Void Screams Back in room 6DE, about that sharp edge where horror and sci-fi overlap.

Then I will go home and have drinks with my beloved and our houseguest.

Friday you may stumble across me on the floor, attending certain panels, lurking at certain booths. If you happen to see me, please say hi. I may drop random notes on Bluesky, if you follow me there, like a painfully inept Carmen Sandiego (“I heard he’s going to be at the Blackstone booth at 11:00 for ten or fifteen minutes or so.”)

That’s where I’ll be. Hopefully I’ll see you there. And if not, I’ll see you back here next time.
